Lynette “Netty” Denelsbeck was appointed to the executive board for baton twirling at the national convention in Puerto Rico in August, 2010. She will serve as the new secretary/treasurer for AAU Baton Twirling.
Lynette was a competitive twirler for seven years, giving her a unique understanding for her student’s persona and needs. During her twirling tenure, Lynette competed on championship teams that won state and national titles, including AAU Jr Olympic Gold Medalists multiple times. She was also part of the inaugural team of majorettes at Timber Creek High School for four years.
Netty lives in Orlando, Florida and attends the University of Central Florida. She continues her twirling career by coaching novice and beginner teams in baton, ribbon, dance and color guard with Brite Star Twirlers of Central Florida. Netty also runs several after school programs collaboratively with Candice Dowdy, providing recreational twirling opportunities for athletes not interested in the competitive world at this time. Netty’s favorite part about coaching is instilling confidence in her students and enabling them to demonstrate the skills and self esteem that they have worked so hard to achieve. Lynette finds pride not only in watching her students grow as twirlers, but being part of their lives as they grow into lovely young adults.
